WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU VISIT
What happens on Sunday mornings?
As you enter Granbury First UMC, you will experience an atmosphere of Christian love that comes from a wonderful group of people coming together to celebrate God's gifts with joyous hearts and seek meaning and purpose in their lives.
How do people dress?
Many of our members dress up, but some dress casually. So, come dressed as you feel comfortable!
When should I arrive?
We have two worship services for you to attend. The 8:30 and 10:50 am services both feature prayer, scripture reading, congregational singing, anthems featuring our Choir and a sermon.
Where should I go?
When you arrive, stop by the Vistors Table in the Welcome Center. Here you will find information about our church and a gift for first-time guests. Our host can also answer any questions you might have.
Can I bring my children to worship?
Children are welcome at any worship service at the church. Worship is important for children because is teaches them about their spiritual life. There are Children's Bulletins with crayons at the entrance of the Sanctuary. We also provide a nursery for children during all worship services.
How and when is communion celebrated?
We observe Holy Communion at both services on the first Sunday of every month. Communion uses physical symbols of bread and juice to represent Christ's death and resurrection, as well as God's blessing in our lives. Through communion, we are remembering our promise of resurrection through Jesus Christ, while we are connecting with Christ, God and the Holy Spirit in a tangible way. We invite all who believe in Christ to receive communion, regardless of age or denominational affiliation.
Why worship?
Because of our commitment to Christian worship as the body of Christ, we strive to make worship our first priority as a staff and as a congregation. Believing that worship is essential to the life of any Christian believer, it is our prayer that you experience God during your time with us on Sunday morning. We hope you will make attending worship every Sunday the first priority in your life and your family's life. We look forward to see you each and every Sunday!
