How Do I Join?

Suggestions for Visitors

Attend a Sunday Morning Worship Service

Most visitors start by attending a Sunday Morning Worship Service. You are welcome to attend any of our services. The 8:30am and 10:50am services meet in the Sanctuary and feature our choirs and have a progressive traditional feel to them.

Avoid the urge not to tell others you are a visitor. Let the people around you know that you are visiting the church. Ask persons why they joined the church. This will help you to learn more about the church. When the service is over take the opportunity to introduce yourself to one of our pastors.

Stop by the Welcome Center Desk

Our visitor center is located in the Welcome Center just out side the Sanctuary. We provide a free gift to first time visitors! At the Visitor Center , you also have the option of completing a card to provide information for you to be placed on our mailing list.

Attend a Sunday School Class or Other Group

We have many different Sunday School options for all ages. This is a great way to connect with the people who are Granbury First. You can get more information about all the classes offered at the information booth or simply ask a pastor or someone you see in the hall.

Other Church Events

Review the weekly church calendar, call the church office, or search this website for other opportunities. For example, consider joining a Bible Study or attending a United Methodist Women or United Methodist Men’s gathering. If you have children, speak with our Children’s Minister or Youth Minister about activities like Sunday evening youth gatherings or Vacation Bible School.

When You Are Ready, Join the Church

Some people visit three Sundays and join the church. Some persons say that they knew almost instantly that they had found their church home. Others visit for months prior to making this commitment. This is a personal decision that only you can make. For more information about joining the church, call the church office at (817)573-5573 to set up a time to meet with one of the pastors or attend a Coffee With the Pastors.

Coffee with the Pastors

The pastors would like to invite all Granbury First guests to an informal time of coffee and muffins. Coffee with the Pastors is held quarterly and the time and date can be obtained from the church office or by contacting one of the pastors. This is an informal time in which the expectations of church membership are discussed and questions you may have about Granbury First or the United Methodist Church can be answered. We have a special Stress Free joining opportunity for those who attend one of these coffees.

Methodism 101

Have you ever wondered what we believe and United Methodists? How is the church organized? Who makes decisions in our church?

These questions and many more are answered in our Methodism 101 Class with Rev. Neil Norman.  The Class is taught on Sunday mornings in Room 123 starting at 9:40 am. The class is held quarterly starting the Sunday after Coffee with the Pastors and lasts for 5 weeks.

You do not need to register, simply show up.

There is a place for you at Granbury First.
