Membership Care

The purpose of this committee is to serve as a caring resource for all members and track member attendance so we may be aware of a possible need among our members for one of our church ministries. Areas of special focus are as follows:

New Members: Those joining the church within the past six months.
For one year, the new member's worship attendance is tracked by the Membership Care Committee in order to ensure the new member is beginning to feel more at home in the congregation.

Church Members: Those who have been members for more than six months. A member of the committee will contact any member who has had very regular attendance for sometime, but then begins to miss church for consecutive Sundays. A telephone call or visit is our first choice of contact, but if we are unable to reach the member a note is sent expressing our concern.

Special Care and Consideration: Some committee members serve as "Sunshine" persons, sending get-well cards to hospitalized members, as well as a special note to someone in long-term convalescence, or on hospice. Sympathy cards are sent to members in bereavement. Sometimes a special event in a member's life is recognized with a personal note from the committee.
